55 in each branch of secondary school admission policy release, know all information
Students from first to ninth grade can be admitted in government secondary schools of the country. No more than 55 students can be admitted in any branch of any class of the school. And
Keeping these rules, the Ministry of Education has issued a new policy for the admission of students in government secondary schools of the country. This policy was published on the website of the Ministry of Education on Wednesday (October 9). In the academic year 2025, all secondary schools in the country must follow this policy.
How old should the student be?
According to the 'National Education Policy 2010', the age of the student should be more than 6 years for admission in the first class. The age determination in the next class will be applied consistently to the students admitted in the first class. The upper age limit for admission will be determined by the school concerned. Attested copy of online birth registration certificate should be submitted along with the admission application form to determine the age of the student. A maximum of 5 (five) years additional facility can be given in determining the age of students with special needs. For example: In the academic year 2025, the minimum age limit of a student will be 5 years i.e. the minimum date of birth will be up to 1 January 2020 and the maximum age limit will be up to 7 years i.e. the date of birth will be up to 31 December 2017.

According to the policy, the date of online application and lottery for student admission will be fixed by the Department of Secondary and Higher Education. 2025 academic year will be considered from January 1 to December 31. The number of students in each class branch will be 55
Reserved quota, pet quota and twin admissions
* 40 percent quota should be reserved for students of catchment area adjacent to government schools in Dhaka city. The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (MAUSI) will determine the catchment area under the jurisdiction of all government schools in Dhaka city and inform the concerned.
* 5 percent quota will be reserved for the admission of freedom fighters, sons and daughters of martyred freedom fighters and if sons and daughters are not available, grandchildren will be admitted.
*In case of admission to class VI, 10 percent quota of the total seats of class VI of the school will be reserved for students who have passed class V of government primary schools.
*In order to include students with special needs in the mainstream of education, a quota of 2 percent will be reserved for admission on the condition of minimum qualification. If any seat is vacant it has to be filled from the waiting list.
* In case of children of officers/employees working in secondary and higher education departments and subordinate offices/organizations, 2 percent quota will be reserved for admission in metropolitan, divisional and district headquarter educational institutions subject to minimum qualification. If the number of applicants is more, a lottery will be held among them.
*If the applicant's brother/sister or twin brother/sister is already studying in any educational institution, 3 percent quota will be reserved for those brother/sisters or twin brother/sister. However, this benefit will be applicable to a maximum of 2 children of a couple.
Admission Committee
Dhaka Metropolitan Admission Committee under the leadership of Director General of Secondary and Higher Education Department, District Commissioner under the leadership, Upazila Nirbahi Officer under the leadership of Upazila level admission committee has been formed to carry out the admission process of students in government secondary schools.
Admission Date and Fee
The date and time of Digital Lottery program and application fee will be decided centrally by the Department of Secondary and Higher Education. The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education will centrally complete all activities related to the admission process through digital lottery.
How is school choice?
In case of applying to government secondary schools, a student can give preference to a maximum of 5 schools. However, in double shift schools, if both shifts are chosen, 2 choices (2 school choices) will be deemed to have been completed. In order to bring more transparency in the existing online admission application process, the student has to finalize any one educational institution from the educational institutions of his choice for admission. The subject will be included in the software.

How to apply for admission and receive fees
Online admission application fee should be accepted as per the instructions of the Ministry of Education. Admission fee including session charges can be charged as per the Ministry of Education circular.
Digital Lottery and Results How
Admission – After the completion of the online application process of the aspirant students, the Technical Support Institution will submit all the application and digital lottery information to the Dhaka Metropolitan Admission Committee. After that, under the supervision of Maushi, the lottery program will be completed in the presence of Dhaka Metropolitan Admission Committee members.
Class-wise students will be selected according to this policy through the digital lottery program of applications received online from the admission-seeking students from all over the country. First waiting list should be selected with equal number of students selected through digital lottery. A second waiting list will be prepared through lottery if required later.
If any ambiguity or difficulty arises during the implementation of these policies, it should be resolved as per the instructions of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education.
